We are delighted to welcome Ewan Rees as the new Operations Manager, in response to the continued success of the group.
With a career spanning 15 years, working within the tourism and hospitality sector, both in the UK and abroad, Ewan brings a wealth of experience to the newly created role and will oversee all aspects of the day to day operation of the three heritage accommodation properties, with a specific focus on delivering a consistently high level of guest service, whilst maximising sales opportunities for the properties.
Previous positions range from Guest Services & Health Spa Supervisor at AAA Five Star, Relais & Chateaux Hotel, The Little Nell in Aspen, Colorado, to Guest Relations Manager and Assistant Hotel Manager at the Cotswold Water Park Four Pillars Hotel in the UK. Ewan then spent a significant amount of time at Yas Viceroy, Abu Dhabi, quickly progressing from Events Manager to Assistant Director of Sales.
After 10 years exploring the world, Ewan returned to Wales, taking on the role of General Manager at the Golden Lion Hotel, Newport, one of Pembrokeshire’s leading historic Inns with restaurant and most recently, Ranger for the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, where he cemented his passion for sharing our Welsh culture and landscape with visitors to the county.
Each role has enabled Ewan to craft his skills to perfectly suit the venues, which offer understated luxury accommodation, fine dining, five star guest experience and the warmest of Welsh welcomes.
Paula Ellis, Group General Manager of the three properties said, “I am thrilled to welcome Ewan to the team. Our success to date has brought us to a pivotal point in the business where we need to develop and grow ready for a further 20 bedrooms at Twr y Felin, opening in early 2020. This new role was created to ensure that we can maintain our ethos and company culture and continue to offer our guests memorable and unique experiences.”
Twr y Felin is AA Hotel of the Year Wales 2017 – 2018. Roch Castle won Best Serviced Accommodation at the Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence 2017 and has been recognised as Best Bed and Breakfast in Wales at the National Tourism Awards 2018. Penrhiw Priory is a Visit Wales and AA Five Gold Star property.
Complimentary transfers are available each evening for dinner at Blas Restaurant, Twr y Felin Hotel, for Roch Castle and Penrhiw Priory guests.
